Set up signing from Salesforce šļ
Note
Our Scale and Enterprise customers can sign documents directly from Salesforce, be it Opportunities, Quotes, CPQ Quotes, Campaigns, Contacts, Cases, or Accounts. Your company doesnāt sign with Skribble yet? Contact us.
- To get the plug-in for Salesforce and set up signing, you need the following:
fill in the online form
Salesforce Admin access
Skribble API credentials
We recommend that Salesforce admins do the setup, as Skribble admins might not have the necessary rights to finish all steps.
Step 1: Getting the plug-in
Go to Salesforce App Exchange and click Get it now
Accept the terms and conditions and fill in the form
Our team will get back to you by e-mail with the next steps
Step 2: Installing the plug-in
Weāll send you a link to install the plug-in and finish the setup. Hereās how it works:
Follow the link we sent you by e-mail
Log in to your Salesforce account
Decide who you want to install the plug-in for ā admins only, all employees or specific people
Wait a few minutes for the plug-in to install; youāll get a confirmation e-mail once done
Note
If you see the message This app is taking a long time to install, click Done to get back to the overview of the installed package in Salesforce. Then follow the instructions.
Step 3: Connecting Salesforce with Skribble
Next, you need to connect Salesforce with Skribble. Hereās where you need the Skribble API credentials you got from us by e-mail.
Go to the Setup page and click Next
To allow Skribble to interact with Salesforce, click Allow
Enter Skribble API credentials and click Next
Salesforce and Skribble are now connected
Step 4: Configuring plug-in and signing
You can sign with Skribble from Opportunities, Quotes, CPQ Quotes, Campaigns, Contacts, Cases, and Accounts. So that you can sign from these record types, you need to:
Update Salesforce security settings ā to show the latest status of a signature
Add the Sign with Skribble button to the record types ā so you can sign
Step 5: Updating Salesforce security settings
Go to Setup and search for Remote site settings
Select New remote site and give it a name, such as Skribble
Then enter the Remote site URL https://cloudy.skribble.com and click Save
Now search for App manager, then go to Skribble Electronic Signature
Click the arrow on the right, then Manage
Navigate to Edit policies
Change Permitted users to Admin approved users are pre-authorised and click Save
Then scroll down to Profiles and click Manage profiles
Select at least one profile that users have so they can use the plug-in and click Save

Repeat the steps below for each record type that should support signing with Skribble, such as Opportunity or Quote. Your record type isnāt supported? Reach out to your contact person at Skribble, and weāll see if we can add it.
Step 6: Creating a lookup relationship
Next, itās time to create a lookup relationship between record types and Skribble Electronic Signature. Hereās how it works:
Search for Object manager
Then either scroll down or directly search for Skribble Electronic Signature
Go to Fields & relationships, then click New
Click Lookup relationship, then Next
Set the Related to to a record type that Skribble supports and click Next
Click Next again or add a description, but do not change the field name or it might break the API
Select the Profiles to which you want to give edit access to this field via field-level security and click Next
Now either add or remove the relationship field of the Skribble Electronic Signature layout and click Next
To display the signature invitations in the related list, keep the checkbox Add related list ticked and click Save
Step 7: Adding the Sign with Skribble button
Now, you need to add the button Sign with Skribble to the page layout of the record type. Hereās how it works:
Search for Object manager
Click on your Record type, then go to Buttons, links, and actions
Click on New button or link and name the label Sign with Skribble
Change the Display type to Detail page button
Paste the following URL into the text field https://cloudy.skribble.com/salesforce/upload?record_id={!RECORD_TYPE.Id}&user_id={!$User.Id}&instance_url={!LEFT($Api.Partner_Server_URL_260, FIND( ā/servicesā, $Api.Partner_Server_URL_260))}
In the URL, replace the RECORD_TYPE placeholder with your record type, such as !Opportunity.Id, !Quote.Id, and click Save
Step 8: Making the button visible
Now you need to make the button visible in the record type. Hereās how it works:
Stay in Object manager and go to Page layouts
Then click on the layout, such as Quote layout or Opportunity layout
Go to Mobile & lighting action and then drag and drop the button Sign with Skribble into the section Salesforce mobile and lighting experience actions
Good to know: If you canāt drag and drop the button, click the **tool symbol on the right to customise this section. Put Sign with Skribble as the first button for the best visibility.
Then scroll down to the Related lists.
If you created a lookup relationship and ticked the checkbox, you should now see Skribble Electronic Signatures here.
Drag and drop it to the Notes & attachments
Then click the tool symbol and select Status in the available fields, then click Add
Click + next to Buttons and untick both standard buttons, then click OK
Click Save in the upper left and then click Yes to overwrite the default settings
Thatās it! Youāve added the Skribble Electronic Signature and the Sign with Skribble button to a record type in Salesforce. Repeat the steps described above for each record type that should support signing with Skribble.
Now employees in your company can sign with Skribble. Try it out before letting them know they can sign from Salesforce. Hereās a quick guide if they need a hand with signing.
Uninstalling the plug-in
Note
After you uninstall the plug-in, employees in your company will no longer be able to sign directly from Salesforce.
To uninstall the plug-in from Salesforce:
Go to Setup and search for Installed packages
Then select Installed packages and click Uninstall next to the package that you want to remove
Choose if you want to save and export a copy of the packageās data
Then select Yes, I want to uninstall and click Uninstall to confirm
You need to remove the button āSign with Skribbleā separately from each record type
